Spinning Globe created a travel technology platform to replicate the experience of a familiarisation trip in a virtual, online experience following two years of research amongst the travel trade. We recognised that fam trips were the travel industry’s preferred method for learning about destinations, but that due to logistics and costs only a tiny fraction of the travel industry ever benefits from the up close and personal experience of being in destinations and experiencing the products that they sell.
What is VFam?
VFam is a unique and innovative sales training platform built on the traditional fam trip model, created in a virtual world. This enables agents to increase their destination knowledge in a realistic, intuitive and engaging way, helping them to increase the potential to sell more of a destination and increase their sales commission.
How VFam works
Tourist Authorities have three core objectives: 1. To increase the number and frequency of desired visitors to their destination 2. Improve dispersal of those visitors around their destinations, reducing over-tourism and spreading the distribution of income across a region or country, and 3. Increase the number of bed nights, touring products and the consequential increase in revenue generated by longer stays. To help deliver against these objectives, VFam content can be created covering a destination or a single hotel or attraction with the strategic ability to market against customer profiles e.g. family, couples, solo travelers, seniors, groups, LGBTQ etc. or against market sectors such as: Luxury, romance, wedding & honeymoons, adventure, history & culture, gastronomy, wellbeing and spa, wildlife, photography, art, road-trips and special interest etc.
